We have arrived in Zacapa! We met at FIL this morning at 1 a.m. and loaded up the van for the trip to O'Hare. Before we left, we gathered in the back of church to pray, asking God's blessing on our travels and for the success of our mission. God is so good! After hours of driving, flying, navigating through airports, and meeting up with our hosts in Guatemala, we arrived at our hotel in Zacapa at about 6 p.m.
The hotel is very comfortable and we had a wonderful chicken dinner prepared for us by a family from the Lutheran Center.
Tomorrow, which will come all too soon, we are worshiping and visiting the homes that will be the focus of our work this coming week. We are all tired, but very excited to be here and start working.
Just want to send a big thanks to Russ and Yvonne Klotz for driving us to the airport this morning, and to Pastor Ahrens for lifting us up in prayer before we left. Did I mention how nice and warm it is down here?
